Karnerfors won't get what I disliked about living in Scandinavia · Another Swede is Annoying on Quora
Robert Holmén is a clearly Swedish name. If he's not a Swedish citizen, he is Swedish heritage, whereever he is.

- If the Ancient Greeks knew that the Earth is round (and they even calculated its diameter), how did this awareness get forgotten several hundreds of years later?

- Contrary to 21st Century opinion, there was a substantial subset of people who believed in Flat Earth through ancient times.
One need only read the Bible and its many uses of Flat Earth imagery to understand that some people clung to the Flat Earth model.
Matthew 4:8
Again, the devil taketh him [Jesus] up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
You don’t write something like that if you and your intended readers know the Earth is round.
By the end of the ancient era, pious Christians had decided to regard such passages as merely literary flourishes, but Round Earth is still not something immediately obvious upon casual observation. It would not surprise me at all that the average peasant driving a plow or sailor who never ventured beyond sight of land may have had little commitment to “Round Earth.”

The devil being an angel need not point a finger to actual object but can get televised images from points of the earth not visible from where they were standing.

No. There was nothing clinching to flat earth in any of them anyway.

We can make the Bible mean anything if we add anything we want to the Bible. My reading is that he used a space elevator.

- The idea of televised images was there in ancient Christianity and inspired the invention of TV - not the other way round.

- As I said, you can believe the Bible says anything once you allow making stuff up.
It so happens, the way out of this is knowing what the Church Fathers considered the Bible as meaning. And it so happens, the idea of televised images is there in these.
But Robert Holmén neither knows, nor wants to know, he wants to continue scoring a point against the Bible, and disabled further comments to prevent me from nullifying this point./HGL
