co-authors are other participants quoted. I haven't changed content of thr replies, but quoted it part by part in my replies, interspersing each reply after relevant part. Sometimes I have also changed the order of replies with my retorts, so as to prioritate logical/topical over temporal/chronological connexions. That has also involved conflating more than one message. I have also left out mere insults.

I Have Actually Been a Teacher
French teacher's perspective on the French protests

I have been a teacher.
More teachers per students actually is a legitimate concern.
By now, it's so clear that High School is not giving all who have the Baccalaureate a more decent life, so, I think the solution is fewer students, and more young people starting their "real life" or better "adult careers" ...
And please don't tell me, I need to become a teacher, I can take a class of twelve if it's friendly, but not of 20, and French schools have like 35 students per class.
In 35 students, the teacher gets less respect simply by being less audible.
Now, you have been to a teachers' school, I haven't, I jumped in twice, once for two months when a Latin teacher went to Rome, and once for a term, after another one of their teachers quit. You may know how to make a clas of 35 work, I don't. But I'm sure, even your good recipe would fail in 5 out of 6 classes of 35 in France.
So, I'm not asking for more teachers, I'm asking for more freedom to quit school and start marriage or a job or both ....
