16:27 Between Alfred Loisy and Karl Rahner, wasn't there a certain Teilhard?

And, somewhat more sober and discrete, but still not quite into Biblical truth, namely: "E . MANGENOT, professeur d'Écriture Sainte à l'institut catholique de Paris, consulteur de la commission biblique, L'authenticité mosaïque du Pentateuque"

He introduced the Framework theory on the Creation Days to replace what he admitted to be the three thitherto held theories:

  • Young Earth Creationism (which he admitted to be the sole one before 1830, before Lyell)
  • Day-Age (the theory of Fulcran Vigouroux, the one he had (on behalf of the Pope) judged licit to discuss among exegetes
  • Gap Theory (the theory of Cardinal Wiseman).

In other words, like Theilhard, though less radical, he opposed the Fundamentalist solid past of the Catholic Church.

Probably, instead of firing Loisy, one should have closed down all of the institute after it had hired him, rather than allowing Mangenot to continue parts of his work.
