Kidnapped is the word, speaking of which, is she en route from Tel Aviv?

‘Does not care about reality’: Greta Thunberg’s ‘selfie yacht’ intercepted by Israel

0:25 "if you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters"

Detention within Israel's territorial waters would have been under their legal control. She specified in the prerecording the video would be released if they were boarded (or otherwise stopped from proceeding) in international waters.

If an Israeli policeman detains someone suspected of for instance Christian proselytising in Jerusalem, that's detention. But if he does so in London, unless the Bobbies invited him, that's kidnapping.

So, kidnapping is actually the correct view of what happened.

0:47 No, one kidnapping doesn't equate to no kidnapping on the other side, so, no, stating the obvious legal implication of what happened is not a poor choice of words.

1:26 What happened to Israelis is not relevant for her action. She was not carrying arms to Hamas, she was carrying supplies to Palestinian civilians.

So, offering them a watch, as if that would make a difference was pseudo-paedagogic overreach. Israel Katz, if was behind it, was doing exactly what the Madleen crew has been accused of caring most about: making selfies. Only, he's doing it on another level, implying other people, kidnapped in international waters, in a humiliating position, in his meta-selfie.

Even if Katz thought they were absolutely wrong, if he thought, yes, they would definitely be putting help into the hands of Hamas who would sell it and select beneficiaries to corruptly cement their power (I have heard that narrative), the thing to offer, if anything, would have been a video about what Hamas is doing with humanitarian aid. But he prefers being a bully, posing as if catching them in an act of wanton callousness about the October 7 victims.

As far as I can see, all 12 refused to watch that video.

2:55 Yes, the video was pre-recorded and the plan was, and presumably also carried out, to release the video only in case they were intercepted on international waters in an act amounting to piracy and therefore kidnapping.

So, the fact that she mentioned kidnapping in a pre-recorded video doesn't mean she wasn't actually kidnapped. You are doing lousy journalism if you draw that conclusion.

Imagine they had arrived near the coast of Gaza, that would on some views have been in Israeli territorial waters, and so detention, if same acts had been done there. The idea of when to release the video was, it would happen if they were detained outside Israeli waters, and this is presumably exactly what happened.

How that is not kidnapping is a conundrum for any lawyer.

"before they 3:08 they're they allowed to go back to 3:10 Sweden they should watch this video"

That's kidnapping.

Imagine one load of Jews entering Auschwitz being offered a release if they watched a film about the atrocities that Lenin's party (many of whom were Jewish) committed before they could get released, would that not be kidnapping? Obviously yes.

So far from being released, they are being detained, under an act of extortion, or am I overreading the words of Katz?

Also, the only person from Sweden is actually Greta, on the Madleen.

Six are from France. One from Netherlands. One from Germany. One from Brazil. One from Turkey. One from Ireland.

6:06 Yes, Detroit Airport.

If she was detained or arrested after arriving on US territory (which Detroit Airport is) it is detention or arrest.

If someone had taken down the plane in the Pacific, even an officer of the US law enforcements would have been a kidnapper if taking here there.

7:09 By contrast, Thunberg, Rima Hassan, Liam Gallagher were not trying to destroy the food supply for anyone.
