There is no creationism theory. A theory is a well tested explanation of some collection of facts. “Goddidit” is not an explanation because it’s not falsifiable. There are no predictions made that would test positive if and only if creationism were true. Creationism is a religious doctrine.

While “God did it” is the creationist answer for certain questions, it’s not such for all of them.

Therefore there are creationist theories that are properly speaking scientific theories and not religious doctrines, for instance “water canopy before the Flood” - while still held by Kent Hovind, it’s usually abandoned by other creationists, because the thickness would be such as to make life impossible before having the benefits on pre-Flood climate or reservoir of Flood water needed.

“Water canopy before the flood” is not a theory. It explains no actual observations, and makes no testable predictions.

It explained (badly) a low level of radiation leading to a low level of carbon 14 at the Flood, as given by Flood remains or presumed such being carbon dated to 40 000 BP (for c. 3000 BC) and also, same low level, leaving telomeres in better shape and therefore longer ages up to 900 years.

Both the Flood year and the older ages of the patriarchs are from historic observations behind the Bible text.

Now, it also made testable predictions : there is a level of water volume suspended in orbit or whatever, that will allow sunlight to come down, but will shield off nearly all radiation. And the maths tested it with the result : no, there isn’t. Hence the theory is now mostly discarded.
