I know the Quranic lie Our Lord was not crucified and Judas was crucified in his place, given his appearance. Is it in Sura 4, Aya 157? Didn’t know that.

The Gospels were written within decades from the actual events, two of them by people who were disciples when He walked among us, two by people who had access to such (St. Mark had access to St. Peter and St. Luke interviewed several, including the Blessed Virgin).

The Quran was spoken (later written down after memorisation) by a man who claimed revelations from Allah and who lived several centuries after the life of Our Lord, in a place where Christianity was being marginalised (there were Christians in Arabian peninsula, but mostly not in Meccah or Yathrib).

The choice is very easy for me.

A bit of a follow up on your point.

The Catechism of Trent, perhaps even the council of Trent in the canons, says that it is usually a mortal sin to marry against the will of one's parents.

Now, suppose you are Catholic and your dad is a Protestant and your dad hopes you will become a Protestant again, and so opposes your marrying a Catholic, since that obviously would interfere with returning to Protestantism, would you still be obliged to refrain from marrying a girl if your father opposes it?

I would think that would be a very good reason to make an exception on that "usually" rule ...?

I'm no expert, but I strongly think that a ruling like that is less binding these days. Sure, honoring parents' opinions and wishes is good, but they're is God's will as well. In your scenario, the father is trying to refuse his child God's call. While he's you're going against a parent's will, I don't think it would be mortally sinful.

This video is from "Ajoutée le 6 nov. 2019" and so some week from when I saw a first video by you and when I gave you some taste bits on my fan fic to consider (pro bono or just for the fun if you like).

It also happens to be the case every place I was connected was on someone else's computer - libraries or cybers. And this implies the guys who were lending me computers had an opportunity to see what I was watching.

It's a "wild guess" as they say, but some shrink or shrink like person over here contacted you as you would be in a better position to give me the reality check they think I need. Obviously, from your experience, not theirs, I am not suggesting they dictated the video, just gave you a very general direction about it, and perhaps exactly one question or exactly one repeated phrase (you are not cute would be a candidate) could have been part of the message they wanted to pass on though you.

I'll be dealing with the following points from this perspective.

If I am wrong, have a laugh. But read my answers anyway ... supporting (real support as opposed to this tirade) a colleague with difficulties might be a challenge, but one you might like (in so far as you consider a mainly essayist and researcher as a colleague, a polemic one at that).

My excuses for not getting the fan fic (which I loved and perhaps still love if I get sufficient calm back into my situation) done, are mainly getting something else written.

There are now 83 chapters in the fan fic, including "an Author's aside" and excluding prologue material.

That is 3 % of a chapter per day since I started, and as the chapters are very short, size of longer blog posts, that is lousy as a writer's production.

However, since I got to Paris, I wrote a medium of 2.6 blog posts per day. Over 7800 posts.

That is not terribly bad, if you consider most can be re-published in print.

So, re-formulate, a publisher's excuses are not getting my essays into book form (excuses like "no, we don't accept submissions in the format of blog links" or "doesn't your French take a terrible lot of editing?" or so ...)

Sounds a bit, according to my theory (see comment to 0:14) as if some shrink minded person had told you I weren't sure if I wanted to make writing my carreer or just my hobby.

It could be my novel writing in the end amounts to just a hobby, though I think I have the so far most ambitious Susan fic, avoiding both Evangelicals "and Susan said a prayer and got saved" and the infamous The Problem of Susan, which angered me enough to spark the writing process.

But my essay writing is not just a hobby, my research is amateur compared to accredited scientists, but my writing is professionally an essayist who is amateur scientist (somewhat more in the know than Chesterton, I think, except perhaps particle physics).

So, mutatis mutandis, since you are speaking of mainly novelists, some of your points could have a bearing - if correct about me.

By the way, one way of making time hard for me is to take only my artistic output (a minority of which "Chronicle" is perhaps half or even more) as professional writing, while taking my essay writing or debating as a distracting hobby.

If novel writing were my professed main work and essay writing a distracting hobby, some people would have a point.

# 2 Stop Whining?

Well, when will sabotage stop ... like networks abusing my blogs to "study" me and keeping other readers out as best they can?

Or publishers who imagine blog to book is a myth?

Or people I adress on this matter who think the very fact I am adressing them is proof I haven't worked and don't know yet what it takes, even before they take a single look at a single post.

They are making my survival while writing "full time" (less than half time in effective editing of posts, but still counting other points) as hard as they can, like this night the bank parlour (is that the word?) the place where they have machines outside office hours but Inside the building, where I was squatting, had a visit from a guard - he had turned some keys, so it sounded like a dove caught on top of the roof, but when I wanted to get out and pee, blocking the door so I could get back in, I found he had turned some screw in the emergency exit so it was impossible to get out before they opened. Guess who was awake some hours more than normally needed? And no, homeless shelters are not my thing. Not night shelters. I have difficulty getting sleep there.

Or Mark Lipschitz in South Africa who knows my writing must suck before he reads a thing, because Jews can't be involved in gatekeeping or anything ...

When that kind of thing stops, I might stop complaining .... and some people who like to call it "whining" might want to stay away from getting too close a look at what I think of them.

I have worked for 18 years as a writer, with or without studies in parallel.

At 51, with a body partly degraded from homelessness, I couldn't get a work in a sweatshop if I asked for it.

Your recommendation on making your outline only after you have mastered the psyche of each character means a few things I really don't like:

I actually don't think Till We Have Faces is totally better than a Narnia.

But Letters to Malcolm : Chiefly on Prayer (an epistolary novel, actually) is better theology than some of his earlier stuff.

The kind of thing you envisage is what you counselled against elsewhere : reading the reviews (published criticism, as opposed to beta readers).

CSL did not care for the kind of reviewers who were writing about the personal development of an author as opposed to the content of a book.

Why? The reviewers view on an author's inner life isn't real.

Having imaginary friends really stops being not just cute but even remotely excusable when real people still alive are being taken for them. (Take that shrinks, if any!)

Dorsal nasal, meaning ng sound in sing or ñ sound in año ... it seems all occurrences of these sounds in IE languages come from other nasals in certain positions.

Coronal affricate, as in ts, tch, dz, dj? It seems all occurrences of these later on have sources other than these. Palatal k would have become tch or rather sh in Satem languages.

Multiple distinct sibiliants? S had Z as pure allophone. Possibly they would also have had SH/ZH as allophones.

Vowel lengths would be reflexes of Laryngals, like eH2 becoming a long ah. PIE now usually refers to when it was still eH2, which presumably means e + ach-laut. Or see following.

Five vowel [system]? I and U would have been vocalic in 0 stages of Ablaut systems, while being Y and W in full stages like EI, EU, YE, WE / OI, OU, YO, WO, some of which would result in long vowels in some languages. This leaves E, A, O as stem vowels, functioning fully as vowels (as E or O in above) and of these O would sometimes be H3 or H3E or long O from EH3 (ghw / ghwe / eghw, if you want my best guess), and A and long A always from H2, H2E, EH2.

In other words, because "there are vowels, and then there are vowels" - only short E and O qualifying for one type, and all others double functioning always or sometimes as consonants.

This according to those who accept the PIE reconstruction of a unitary language.

Some of these complexities might be avoided, if IE started out as a Sprachbund rather than family.

That depends on which chronology you follow.

I follow the one of Roman martyrology of Christmas Day, and it says Flood was in 2957 BC, Abraham was born 2015 BC. This suggests a reading of Genesis 11 along mainly LXX lines, but without the second Cainan, sth which is confirmed by Josephus.

Based on this, Babel would have been ending in 401 after the Flood, indeed, one can consider Babel was most of the time between 350 and 401 after the Flood (a traditional assessment says it was for 40 years, so either it took 11 years from Noah dying to them starting or it ended, but breakup was still ongoing, when Peleg was born in 401 after the Flood).

Each original Babelic language (it seems there were 72 of them, like the tribes named for grandsons and greatgrandsons of Noah in Genesis 10) was functional immediately after God did the change. In the evening, they were hailing each other with the Hebrew or palaeo-Hebrew equivalent of "Good evening - Good evening" and in the morning they would be trying with "Guten Morgen - Buenos Dias - Hyvää Huomenta" (or the then equivalents, since German, Spanish and Finnish are clearly much later things).

This event would have been when the carbon date 8600 BC, top level of Göbekli Tepe, is from.

However, each of them would still have either a Neolithic culture or be keeping a Palaeolithic one for a few centuries more.

6000 BC in carbon dates would be around the birth of Sarug in 2294 BC. This date is important, since Nineve was founded then, as far as continuous habitation is concerned.

With early Dynastic Egypt and still prior to Eblaite archives, more like Chalcolithic of En Geddi, we have Abraham aged around 80 in Genesis 13 and 14. With Eblaite archives, we are already past the life of Joseph who died c. 1700 BC, since carbon date 2600 BC for Djoser corresponds to it. Sound changes are only irreversible when they are completed.

As long as it is not completed, it is revertible (see Jean Aitchison).

Next, some sound changes could be reversible insofar as they only go between two versions of one parameter and do not fuse sounds.

Once a fusion is complete (hypothetic but very possible example, merging spirantic voiced sounds like β, δ, γ, γw from PIE bh, dh, gh, ghw by Grimm's law with β, δ, γ, γw from φ, θ, χ, χw by Verner's law which by Grimm's law go back to p, t, k, qu) it is irreversible, the sound can split, but the split would be from what the surroundings are (like Verner's law split φ, θ, χ, χw into 1 φ, θ, χ, χw and 2 β, δ, γ, γw according to where the accent was in surrounding vowels), not from what the original participants of the split were.

One could argue Germanic an, am becoming West Saxon on, om has been reversed in man > mon > back to man. However, comb is still unreversed.

Actually, it is more probably the descendants of Heth were the Hattic people, a non-Indo-European language.

Hittites proper were for instance Cappadocians, and thus descendants from Gomer, from whom come Cappadocians, Gauls and Brits and Irish.

My professor in Greek said, if you have an Ancient Greek and a modern Lithuanian form of same word, you can easily deduce the form that word had in PIE.

But that obviously is that precise version of PIE, Meillet’s - there are other ones.

Oh, you mean PIE as it was actually spoken back then?

We don’t know. One computerised vocabulary test considered Germanic and Gothic as remarcably close to PIE.

And, yeah, perhaps there wasn’t one such language, perhaps IE is a Sprachbund (or rather a remnant of former Sprachbünder).

From perusing the link, I found no human bones attached to carbon date 38 000 BC but only stone tools (not dated), shells and charcoal.

This is perfectly compatible with Noah's family coming there to an excursion just after the Flood, arguably the daughter in law with Neanderthal heritage giving some lectures on stone chipping (or having done so elsewhere) and how to use stone tools, as the metal tools on the Ark would have been scarce and the ore quarries hadn't been located post-Flood yet.

It is also compatible with them having been there just before the Flood, or someone else having been there and then it being revisited during Noah's remaining lifetime (by his close family or by a bit further off descendants, like Javan and family) and also during (Neolithic = ) early ensuing years.

Only problem to solve is to reduce the carbon dates to correct and Biblical chronology.

Present written language or historic predecessors?

Like comparable to Modern Greek since 1970, or comparable to any Greek including Mycenaean Greek?

In the longer perspective there may have been two Hungarian written languages, Etruscan and Hungarian proper, that being how Toth and Alinei classify Etruscan.

In the Italian arena, Etruscan was spoken and written VIIIth to IInd CC. BC. It continued to be transmitted in writing up to the time of I think St. Gregory the Great when everyone had great fun at the last Augur who made some incantation that no one understood.

In the Pannonian arena, Hungarian was written since 1055 AD, three phrases in the foundation letter for a monastery, that of Tihany. First complete text being Halotti beszéd és könyörgés (translation from Latin discourse and prayer for funerals) in the Codex Pray (mainly Latin and includes the Latin original).

Note, the Hungarian of Tihany chart or for funerary speech and prayer is Old Hungarian, not quite the same thing as Middle Hungarian (1526 - 1772) or Modern Hungarian (since 1772). But these stages are obviously closer to each other than to Etruscan if it was an even older stage of same language.

Note also, before Hungarian was written, it was spoken, and no one knows for how long (except it must have been non-extant prior to Babel, probably was so some time after too). Part of the question depends on whether Thot was right in considering also Hattic and Sumerian as Finno-Ugric. Of these, only Sumerian would in my opinion have some chance to be one of the original Babelic languages. Or it was created as an Esperanto a bit later ... however, the connexion is presumably as tenuous as that between different "branches of Indo-European".

Jews and Catholics have different ways about that. Sure, both agree in neither rabbis nor priests actively recommending literature that is (really and according to the own tenets) bad.

But both also go further, in different ways.

Jews could make a compact of silence, a kind of omertà. Catholics on the other hand openly condemn books.

Galileo wrote at least two books that were on the index until Gregory XVI removed them from there. They were put on the index and it was publicised everywhere, Catholics must not read them. The index editions referred to precise (as the last index edition not including them still referred to precise) occasions on which they were condemned.

Jews make compacts like first not speaking of a thing, next if someone speaks (especially a younger person) tell them "you mustn't read that and also you mustn't speak about it".

I think a lot of "Catholic" priests these days have made a Jewish type compact of omertà about my blogs, Robert Barron being one of them. Not one single blogpost of mine has been explicitly condemned by any of them, like De revolutionibus orbium coelestium was placed on the index in 1616 - and yet some of them are very systematically treating all of the 7800 + blogposts as if they already were on the index.

They claim to be Catholic, but are playing a Jewish game.

Any Catholic could ask the priest "why is De revolutionibus orbium coelestium forbidden, what's wrong with it?"

And the priest could answer "it teaches Heliocentrism" (by the way, the ban on actually believing Heliocentrism has to the best of my knowledge, unlike the ban on reading Galileo, never been revoked by a reverse judgement).

And a layman having the permission to read books on the index could check for himself when approaching a poison closet - yes De revolutionibus orbium coelestium does in fact teach Heliocentrism. And he could also check that his priests were teaching Geocentrism.

If Galileo had gone in exile to Holland and had written to Rome, he would have gotten the answer : "Geocentrism is forbidden, if you meet one Galileo he was defending it in a trial about his book in 1616, wait, you are Galileo himself right? You were at the trial."

Very unlike the attitude to my positions. IF I go out of my way to approach Catholics in US over the internet, they will uniformly admit that Young Earth Creationism and Geocentrism are, if not on their view obliging, at least canonically licit positions. They may cite tactical reasons why one shouldn't be one (it could prevent Evolution believers and Heliocentrics from converting - as if their positions were uniformly set in stone), but they will not pretend it is forbidden. IF I approach Catholics, orally, when they are volunteering or hosting (for a priest* at St. Ambroise) at morning receptions for the homeless, where I go, they will sometimes say "aren't you afraid of braving the magisterium" as if I were doing so, or make themselves part of what seems to be an investigation - low key but still not too ambiguous to make the suspicion reasonable - about my mental health. IF I compare the invitations for Catholics to read my blog posts (like posting a link on Robert Barron's youtube channel or giving a url to Catholic volunteers), and I then look at the statistics, I get the very, very clear feeling that someone is doing gatekeeping, Jewish style, about them.

Language of the Catechism?

When it comes to its language on homosexuality, it is not harsh, it is ambiguous and at variance with previous teaching in at least one very probable interpretation.

You cannot refer to De horrendo scelere by Pius V saying certain cases of sodomites need to live lonely celibate lives, since the cases the bull deals with are such as had already obliged themselves to celibacy. He did not impose celibacy on laymen with homosexual temptations, even overwhelming such. Let alone on laymen who are simply suspected of being homosexuals. But that is what the catechism suggests, among others by defining "homosexuality" in a way not used by psychology (namely exclusively relationships, not simple redispositions) and then priests can apply that to people who psychologists claim to be "homosexual" in their sense of the word, namely simply by predisposition. AND the paragraphs that are two numbers apart support that.

How do you determine which shepherds are guilty of this? Sociological majority within Catholic population?

1550 in England, Sweden, Denmark (these countries included Ireland, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Faroes, Greenland too) someone going by that criterium would have concluded Christ and His Church are Protestants.

We can adress sun and moon in the words of the three young men, if we are, like they careful not to worship them, but we cannot as they did not adress "earth".

Reminds me of why I left the Swedish Church.

I was already into sooner or later becoming Catholic, but I kept differring it. Then there came (announcement) a new clergyman to the Lutheran parish - it was a "female priest". I considered I had to leave.

I did, even if I took some time to convert, I didn't go to Lutheran services any more. Except one baptism and one wedding.

I already left communion with "Pope Francis" over his "canonisation" of no, not Martin Luther, but Antipope Wojtyla. Back in 2014.
